TO THE KNIGHT OF THE REPUBLIC CARMELO CACCIOLA, MY FATHER, WHO HAS DEDICATED HIS LIFE TO THE STATE POLICE WITH DEDICATION AND LOVE TOWARDS THE UNIFORM THAT HE WAS AT THE SERVICE OF PEOPLE, GIVING ME PRECIOUS VALUES AND AFFECTING THE PHRASE IN THE HEART OF HIS FAMILY “LIBERTY UNDER THE LAW”

MERRY CHRISTMAS COMMANDER

Gazes that look far away,

weighed down by scenes

too raw to bear,

where screams and pain

resonate between the high notes

of the sirens.

How fearless

and reckless

Templar knight

that defends

a Jerusalem

ungrateful,

put to the test

your life on a field

battlefield,

where your death

would not make a fuss.

long, endless waits ,

in the bitter cold of the night,

illuminated by the sparkle

of a flashing light.

Uniform sewn on,

tattooed,

engraved on the skin.

Too many times too

until, from who

offends yours

fervent I think.

Perpetual protagonist

of a cold stage,

where thunderous applause

they head towards

those who

they show no faces

and gratification remains

utopian mirage.

Baby heart,

tightened by an armor

that does not give’ space

to dear feelings,

marked by

hot tears

dry quickly,

summarized

from hasty kisses

and hugs

they would like

to remain.

And in an infinite night,

apparently

like all the others,

are you still there,

Once again

ready to show

a heroic gesture

unconditional and real,

but …

through the din

shrill of one

radio, a voice

reassuring

breaks the icy grayness:

MERRY CHRISTMAS BOYS.
